The Sustainable Artwork Of Brian ILL

Brian ILL is a Los Angeles-based artist, writer, and environmentalist who's work is creatively spontaneous with no boundaries. Inspired by horror/sci-fi magazines and films, as well as the seven UFOs he has personally witnessed, he wishes to entertain, but keep people aware of their planet's environment. His work is unique in that he spends no money on materials. All artwork is created with recycled cardboard and simply drawn with black marker. This makes his work very sustainable and good for the environment. He creates on what most people throw away. Plus, he always has something to draw on and it makes his pieces extremely affordable and collectible. Prices generally range from only $5-$40. For Brian, it's all about his ideas and getting them out there to fans and collectors while keeping them environmentally aware.

Here is what people are saying:

"There's something attactively simple about the drawings....almost Picasso-esque." - Brian Sandahl, Senior Designer, Disney Entertainment and Creative Development.

"I like the whole concept idea, I love brown cardboard for some reason, it's tactile and evocative. Also quite transitory...." - Roger O'Donnell, Musician, Composer, Keyboardist of The Cure

"Every drawing tells a story." - Noel ILL, Artist and Creative Director

"I appreciate the simple medium of marker on cardboard, the drawings stay true to the ideas they describe and it's like the Sharpie is connected directly to his delightfully kooky brain." - Pam Peacock, Artist and Graphic Designer

"Brian provides us these wonderful iconic images we've all grown up with, yet breathes a spontaneous and original life to each one of his illustrations." - Taylor Rider Jarrett, Sculptor
